Living Rock membership is a commitment to one another—a willing pledge to guard, care, submit, support, and minister together for the building up of our church body.
Membership is open to all Seychellois and Expatriates working in Seychelles who have accepted Our Lord Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.
Duties of Membership Types
Full Membership
- Generally participate fully in the activities.
- Serve under the Pastoral and Executive Committee
- Vote at church meetings
- Qualified to be nominated to attend Seminars or Trainings Local and Overseas.
Honorary Membership
Honorary Membership entitles a person to take part in the activities of the church to serve on the Council of Elders, the Pastoral and Executive Committee but not to vote.
Membership Types
Condition of Membership
A member of the church wishing to propose a candidate for admission must consult the Pastoral Council, and then after satisfactory proof has been given, the name of the candidate shall be submitted to the Council of Elders for a decision upon his/her admission.
Preparation for Membership
- After a nomination has been made, a period for three months shall elapse during which the candidate will be instructed by the Officer of the Pastoral Council.
- Any member wishing to withdraw from membership shall give one month notice to the any Officer of the Pastoral Council.
- A member shall endeavor to abide by the norms and principles of the Christian morality as taught in the Holy Scriptures and as recommended by Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
- Any member who in the opinion of the members of the Pastoral Council persistently disregards the objective and the discipline of the church and the Scriptures will be suspended. A period of 7 months that member will be purified by the Word of God according to (Psalm 12:6) seven times. After which the member will have the time to remedy. If not the case will be presented to the Council of Elders for final decision.
A member must live to the high standard of Christian principles according to the Holy Scriptures such as:
- No corrupt words proceed out of your mouth (Ephesians 4:25, Colossians 3:8-9)No indulging in money gambling (Mathew 6:24-34)
- No excessive drinking of alcohol (1 Timothy 3:8)
- No consummation of illegal drugs or substances (1 Corinthians 3:16-17)
- No practice of sexual immorality i.e fornication, adultery, homosexuality or any other forms (1 Corinthians 5:1-13)
